She's looking at you

What kind of person makes doll clothes? People who like doilies and grandmas come to mind. I am neither, but felt that Sasha's baby doll needed something other than a hideous purple polyester jumper pajama outfit to wear all the time. So I chose the softest fabric scraps I could find in my stash and made her a new outfit! What is wrong with me?

Forgotten until now

I made Sasha this oilcloth lunch bag a while ago when her Ricky Martin lunch box got too icky to use. I meant to finish it by adding velcro to close it, but then thought of a better lunch bag design entirely and am working on that now. So, this is the temporary lunch bag, in the end. Currently in use weekday mornings.

A work bag for me. Since I work from home in the afternoons, I'm carting paperwork to and from work every day. Why settle for some hideous canvas hand-me-down from a foundation conference? I couldn't do that. So I made this bag, well worn already as you can see. Note to self: remember to take photos before use.

For a banjer-picking, old-boat-loving, small-children-tickling family

A little sister gift and a big sister gift. The color coordination was a total coincidence.

A bib for the new baby in the family. When I saw this flannel with owls on it at JoAnns, I just knew it was meant for this baby. The other side is solid brown with yellow chick ribbon detail. Ribbon from Fabric Temptations.

Then, a big sister gift.

Paper dolls from Wee Wonderfuls. Pouch sewn from oilcloth, again from Fabric Temptations, with a velcro closure.

Fun, fun!

Please don't report me for copywright infringement

The short version of the long story is that my pregnant friend and co-worker is expecting a girl in August and entertaining the name Coco Chanel. Since she's a glamorous, fabulous, designer-loving type person, I thought regardless of the final name choice - she really needs a Coco Chanel logo onesie. Who doesn't, right?

I found the black with silver sparkles fabric at JoAnns. I created a Coco Chanel logo modeled and appliqued it onto an organic Gerber onesie. Now, thankfully, this baby girl will have high fashion to greet her when she arrives.

Happily ever after

Last weekend at High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, we had the joy of seeing our newlywed friends April & Larry. I had whipped these coasters up to help them celebrate!

Patterned fabrics by Amy Butler, solid green organic fabric from JoAnns. I bet you can't guess where I found the pattern. You have no idea, huh? Maybe I've mentioned it before: Bend the Rules Sewing by Amy Karol. Can't recommend it any more highly! She has a great blog too: Angry Chicken.
